How your data is handled

Learners are children, so we keep this to the minimum and say plainly what happens. In short: first names, marks and any behaviour note you type are used to write the comments, and you can delete everything yourself at any time.

What is sent

When you add a class, your browser reads the workbook and sends only each learner's first name, their marks, any behaviour note you type, and the class's grade and term.

What is not sent

Surnames and CEMIS numbers never leave your computer. Neither does the workbook file itself: it is read on your laptop and is never uploaded.

What we store

Your email address (so you can sign in), your classes, the first names, marks and notes you sent, and the generated comments. They are kept until the purge date described below, or until you delete them. If you rate a comment or suggest a change to it, we also keep your rating, your suggestion and a copy of that comment. We read these to improve how comments are written, and they are deleted with the class.

Who handles it

When it is deleted

Each class is deleted automatically at the end of the following term, or, for a term we keep open for feedback, the day before the next term with reports starts, whichever is later, so a term's marks stay available for "since last term" comments and then go. You can also delete at any time from Settings:
